LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY

I grew up being a creative and curious child. I explored different forms of expression at a young age using multiple medias. I enjoyed drawing, painting, coloring, dancing, singing, and anything that exercised my creative muscle. The very same passion has only grown stronger throughout my life.

My first introduction to interior design came early in life for me. My dad was a construction worker and often would bring me to jobsites and I fell in love with the process of transformation. At my high school, I joined technical side of theatre being a Props Master as well as diving into set design & construction, lighting, and backstage managing. Being recognized and having a “Star Performance” for our work in the 2018 MSHSL One Act Competition was a lifetime highlight of mine.

At North Dakota State University, I have obtained and improved upon my design skills that have been applied to my professional and personal life. I have been quite the busy bee during my college years. I have been involved in the NDSU community as a leader in student clubs and organizations, a resident assistant in our halls, as well as attending local events and even speaking at our latest event, Talkback to Racism.

In the classroom, I am always looking to create a connection with the school projects. I enjoy working on the technology aspects of our projects. Using new programs and using them have been a source of enjoyment in my student career.

My life experiences and involvements not only highlight my design passion but also my ability to work with my community. I am a first generation student and it has been a blessing to not only make myself proud but as well as my family, friends, and mentors.

My goal right now as a student is to find a firm that fosters and grows skillset that will prepare for my future career in interior design.
